WORK PURPOSE

The Mechanical Piping Supervisor is responsible for supervising piping fabrication, installation, testing, and mechanical completion activities for process gas, lube oil, and utility systems within a live brownfield refinery environment. The role ensures that all piping works are executed safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with project specifications, international standards, quality requirements, and HSE regulations.

DUTIES & RESPONSABILITIES

• Supervise piping fabrication, erection, installation, and testing activities in accordance with project specifications and ASME B31.3.
• Coordinate daily piping construction activities to achieve project schedule and quality objectives.
• Supervise welding activities and ensure full weld traceability and documentation.
• Ensure compliance with ASME Section IX welding procedures and qualifications.
• Coordinate NDT activities including RT, UT, MT, and PT in accordance with project requirements.
• Supervise pressure testing, flushing, leak testing, and mechanical completion activities.
• Coordinate piping tie-ins and shutdown activities in live refinery operations.
• Manage flange integrity, bolt torquing, gasket installation, and leak prevention procedures.
• Coordinate Hot Work Permit (PTW) activities while ensuring strict compliance with refinery safety requirements.
• Monitor subcontractor performance and ensure work is executed according to approved method statements.
• Coordinate with QA/QC, Inspection, Engineering, Planning, and HSE teams to resolve construction issues.
• Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project schedules.
• Prepare daily progress reports and support construction planning activities.

REQUIRED COMPETENCES

• Strong knowledge of refinery piping construction and brownfield execution.
• Thorough understanding of ASME B31.3 Process Piping requirements.
• Good knowledge of ASME Section IX welding qualifications and procedures.
• Experience supervising welding activities and coordinating NDT inspections.
• Knowledge of hydrotesting, leak testing, reinstatement, and mechanical completion.
• Experience with live refinery tie-ins and shutdown execution.
• Strong understanding of refinery Permit to Work (PTW) systems and Hot Work procedures.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and team coordination skills.
• Ability to work under pressure while maintaining the highest safety and quality standards.

QUALIFICATIONS

Mandatory

• Aramco project experience (Mandatory).
• Minimum 8 years of refinery piping installation experience.
• Minimum 5 years of experience working in Saudi Arabia.
• Proven experience in welding supervision and NDT coordination.
• Brownfield refinery piping tie-in experience on Aramco and/or SABIC projects.
• Sound knowledge of ASME B31.3 and ASME Section IX.
• Valid Hot Work / Permit to Work (PTW) certification.
• Transferable Iqama.
• Available for immediate joining (ASAP).

Preferred

• Previous SASREF refinery project experience.
• Previous SABIC refinery experience.
• 6G Welder Certification (for candidates with a welding background).
• Experience working on live operating refinery facilities.
